Rudy Giuliani , former Associate Attorney General of the United States and New York Mayor has been found guilty in a defamation trial. US District Judge, Lewis Liman, awarded $150 million to Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss in New York, giving Giuliani seven days to turn over the award.
The defamation concerns lies that Giuliani spread about Freeman and Moss after the 2020 presidential election. He wrongly stated that the women were part of election fraud in Georgia in an attempt to dispute Donald Trump’s loss to the, then, President Joe Biden.
Despite Giuliani appealing the guilty verdict, Judge Liman authorised Freeman and Moss to immediately begin selling Giuliani’s assets to make up the $150 million award. As a part of this, Liman ruled that Giuliani must surrender and have sold a number of valuable belongings, including:

Over two dozen watches. One of these was a family heirloom passed down to Giuliani, and another gifted by the French President after the terrorist attack on 9/11 when Giuliani was the Mayor of New York.

The pair are also entitled to the fees owed to Giuliani by the Trump campaign for his legal work in 2020.
The previous New York Mayor attempted to protect the heirloom watch from being sold to make up the award. This attempt was rejected as Giuliani failed to prove that the watch’s value was less than $1,000.
Following the win, Freeman and Moss’ lawyer, Aaron Nathan, stated ‘The road to justice for Ruby and Shaye has been long, but they have never wavered. Last December, a jury delivered a powerful verdict in their favour, and we’re proud that today’s ruling makes that verdict a reality.’
